We are regularly getting feedback from customers complaining about feed problems in Howa 1500 rifles (particularly short action) built into an MDT chassis system. The bolt rides over the cartridge and does not pick it up from the magazine. If the cartridge is slightly pushed forward manually, everything works properly.

The reason for this is that the bolt does not go back far enough because it is held by the bolt stop.

In order to fix this issue, the bolt stop needs to be removed and filed/ground down a few millimeters. This might sound complicated, but it is an easy fix.
